Ligorzano appears for the first time on a map of the Archive chapter of Parma in 1039 under the name of Castrum Legorzanum, indicating probably the ancient fort built in support of Castle Monfestino which remains the embattled tower called “Tower of the Bastille.” Not far from the tower is the new football stadium of Serramazzoni, opened in 1985. Further down, along the Via Giardini, you can drink the fresh water of the well known Fontanina, built in 1784 in relief of wayfarers that passed along the way Gardens, now a popular destination for every cyclist, also quoted by the writer Alfredo Panzini that there stopped to drink and then return with the bike the way to Abetone.
